Going Home – Wide Island

Award-winning and multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Pete Denahy, Montz Matsumoto and Hiroki Maeta (mandolin), Tomoyuki Murata (guitar), Aron Mclean (bass) formed a band “Wide Island.” The name comes from a literal translation of Hiroshima (it also represents Australia), the hometown of both Pete’s mum and Hiroki.

This album, Going Home, is an album of original songs penned by the band members (includes Montz’ original song ‘This Immortal Moment’ and banjo tune ’Missing The Island’) and recorded in their various living rooms. Montz is also lead vocalist on the album title track ‘Going Home’.

The song ‘Long Way Over’ is nominated for 2018 Golden Guitar Award for ‘Bluegrass Recording of The Year’.
